  * Try to avoid a situation in which so many ikiwiki cgi wrapper programs
    are running, all waiting on some long-running thing like a site rebuild,
    that it prevents the web server from doing anything else. The current
    approach only avoids this problem for GET requests; if multiple cgi's
    run GETs on a site at the same time, one will display a "please wait"
    page for a configurable number of seconds, which then redirects to retry.
    To enable this protection, set cgi_overload_delay to the number of
    seconds to wait. This is not enabled by default.
  * Add back a 1em margin between archivepage divs.
  * recentchangesdiff: Correct broken template that resulted in duplicate
    diff icons being displayed, and bloated the recentchanges page with
    inline diffs when the configuration should have not allowed them.

    Text::Markdown::Discount perl module. This is preferred if available
    since it's the fastest currently supported markdown library, speeding up
    ikiwiki's markdown rendering by a factor of 40.
    (However, when multimarkdown is enabled, Text::Markdown::Multimarkdown
    is still used.)

    inlined pages. Properly solving this would involve tracking every page

  * aggregate: Forking a child broke the one state that mattered: Forcing
    the aggregating page to be rebuilt. Fix this.

    to a decode_cgi_utf8, which is called on the cgi query object, before the
    form is set up, and decodes *all* cgi parameters.

    showed up where a web edit that added a page caused a near-concurrent
    web edit to fail in will_render. While it would be hard to reproduce this,
    my analysis is that the failing cgi started first, loaded the index file
    (prior to locking) then the other cgi created the new page and rendered
    it, and then the failing cgi choked on the new file when _it_ tried to
    render it. Ensuring that the index file is loaded after taking the lock
    will avoid this bug.
  * Fix strange stderr-hiding code in the git module, allow error messages
    to be passed on to stderr. Also fixes a potential bug, since git error
    meesages were treated as if they came from git stdout.
  * Add a "createlink" class attribute to the span for wikilinks pointing
    to not-yet-existing pages. I don't have a useful style defined for that
    though.
  * Rewritten rst plugin by madduck is a python program that communicates with

  * Change the aggregate plugin's locking strategy. Now it defers loading state
    until the wiki is building and already locked, unless it's aggregating.
    When aggregating, it does not wait for the lock if it cannot get it, and
    instead exits, to prevent aggregating processes from piling up.

  * Correct bug in the img plugin that caused dependencies on images to not

    plugins's support for inserting html link and meta tags. Now such content
    is passed through the htmlscrubber like everything else.

    stylesheets, and for doing openid delegation. If you use either of these

    instead of over and over. Typical speedup is ~4x. Max possible speedup:

  * Rebuilding wrappers is necessary on upgrade to this version.
  * Make ikiwiki --setup --refresh rebuild wrappers, so wrapper rebuild
    will be automatically done on all upgrades.
  * Don't send pings if the wiki is being rebuilt.
  * Work around very innefficient behavior in File::Spec::abs2rel. Result
    is a savings of 2 pointless fork/execs per link calculation, which
    results in ~25% speedup of ikiwiki building its own doc wiki, and
    about 35% speedup displaying RecentChanges!
  * Make RecentChanges use a table and some CSS, should be much more readable.
    No code changes involved.
  * Encode & in diffurl in examples, to conform to pedantic rules.
  * Speed up RecentChanges by another 40% or so with some memoization.

  * -CSD does not affect modules, so readfile() was not using the utf-8 input
    layer, which led to lots of problems; make it force read files as utf-8.

    parse utf8 in source files for the first time, which may expose broken
    utf8 in wiki sources that was hidden before. Most common will be

ikiwiki (1.4) unstable; urgency=low

  * Tell HTML::Scrubber to treat "/" as a valid attribute which is its
    very strange way of enabling proper XHTML <br /> type tags. Output html
    should be always valid again now.
  * The page name and parent links has switched from using a <h1> to a styled
    <span>, so pages can use <h1> internally instead of needing to use <h2>.
  * Updated all of ikiwiki's own wiki pages for that.
  * Add pagetemplate hook, which can be used by plugins that want to mess
    around with adding new stuff to the page template.
  * Remove headercontent; the search plugin now adds the search box to the

    "blog/bar"; such links will also continue to work.

    (This was slightly complex to do as the link still has to be constructed
    relative to the inlining page.)
